A five night/six day mobile base camping canoe trip into Algonquin Park’s interior. Camping in a few select locations, the avid photographer will get a chance to relax and concentrate on what is most important to them; Capturing those magical autumn moments that “The Park” is famous for.

This is a trip out of the north side of Algonquin Park - Access#29 (Kiosk).

Meeting time is 10:00am EST (Departure is approx. 11:00am EST) on Thursday September 26th, 2019 at the permit office located on the shore of Kioshkokwi Lake (Kiosk), Ontario.

The trip ends on Tuesday October 1st, 2019 at approx. 2:00pm EST at Access#29 (Kiosk).

Activities include:

Solitude and colours is the main theme of this package. So anywhere there are colours and little evidence of people - We will go there!

In addition to the usual activities of canoeing and portaging, bushwhacking also takes place, with the lack of bugs, this style of forest exploration makes it tolerable and quite enjoyable to be trekking through the woods. Find that perfect outcropping of mushrooms or perhaps a pileated woodpecker with its red crown blazing in the shimmering golds of an autumn forest.

Mobile base camping involves moving every other day. So that You, the photographer has time to relax - Whether it is to hang around camp or to go off on an extended day-trip photo-op. In this way, the photographer has a more relaxed trip: No need to get up every day and move, more time to shoot photos!
What is included in the package:

Equipment (Use of): Lightweight canoe, paddles, pfd (Life jacket), marine safety kit, lightweight tent, sleeping bag & pad, headlamp, saws, canoe pack & food barrel (one pack and barrel per canoe). Drinking & eating utensils are also included. Fishing rod and tackle will be available upon request. (A fishing license is required).

Food: A total of 5 Dinners and 5 Breakfasts are included as well as light lunches and snacks on the trail during day-trips. Your meals are cooked by our guides over a campfire ensuring you get the full backcountry experience. One glass of wine is provided per person for each of the five dinners.

Our meals consist of steaks, chicken and fish served with fresh vegetables and rice. Dehydrated meals will be served as well - Usually after Day 3 of the trip. There’s dessert too!

Guided Fun: Our guides offer 20 years of experience in the interior of Algonquin Park. Among the activities You can participate in; Star gazing, wildlife observation, making bannock bread and fishing. Learn how to identify various species of tree & plant life. Discover the habitats of some of The Park’s wildlife and the roles they can play in Algonquin Park’s ecosystem. We’ll show you just how much fun being outdoors & unconnected from the outside world can be.

Permits: Your camping permit is included in the cost of your trip.

Additional Info: Once your trip is booked you will be emailed a PDF containing additional information on your upcoming trip - All that you may or may not need to bring with you for a fun and memorable trip!
What is NOT included in the package:

Hotel Accommodation: It is recommended that our international guests make their own arrangements if they need a hotel room the day before and/or day after the trip.

Fishing Permit: A fishing permit is not included.

For non-residents of Canada, a fishing license can be obtained beforehand online via the Ontario government web site. Click here to read the requirements of a fishing license and following the links provided to purchase a license online.

If you need assistance, we can purchase and obtain a fishing permit for you at extra cost. Please provide reasonable time before the trip for us to secure your permit.

Cellphone service: There is no cellphone service in the interior of Algonquin Park. Connection might be possible, briefly, near access lakes. Once deeper inside The Park though, we will be utterly alone. Hope you can handle the disconnection withdrawals!

* Canoe trip packages are priced per person in Canadian funds. Taxes (13% HST) are extra.
